Bill s.978 is a bill that was just recently proposed to the US congress. The bill is intended to stop the use of unauthorized recording of copy-written material, which in my opinion is a good idea for things like TV shows. But the way this bill is worded takes away our right to upload videos of people dancing to songs or singing karaoke without the consent of the creator of that material, and the most gruesome part of all, our right to upload videos of any videogames without the consent of the game's creator. This means all let's plays will become a US crime, along with just you or someone else uploading a video of making a house or making some tnt go boom, or doing many many things without the consent of the maker of said item. This sounds like a good idea in some cases, but in others this could be a major problem, such as the fact that not everyone could be allowed to put up, say, a video of Castlevania gameplay due to lack of management over all the people trying to do so. This also applies to the music videos all of us use and enjoy, and the random stuff out there on youtube. This bill must be reworded or stopped period. otherwise, the internet is severely wounded and/or dead. We must not sit by and watch the government tell us what we can and can't watch on a free website! Combat this bill here:

As the title says, this affects us all. This means yogscast could be shut down, and X's adventures, and coe's quest, and archmagemelek's let's play, and so many other things.

Forgot to mention that they're also banning streaming, and posting of videos from the US or on US-run websites. It would be stopped when found and the person responsible would be prosecuted by the government nfmous. Again, this affects us all. This also applies to anyone who watches these videos, as they're unlicensed videos and thus considered illegal to even look at.
