Oh and also. Because you all missed the wonderful beginning allow me to describe. Pretty much you are War, a horseman of apocalype. AKA one of the four horsemen. You start off in a modern day city, skyscrapers, people, the normal. You fight some demons, the usual. Chaos mode which is OP mode in darksiders. Fight some angel type things. You meet some guy named Abbadon? and he says the seven seals were not broken. The seven seals meaning when the seals are broken it calls the four horsemen. Only one was summoned and it was war. Abbadon gets killed, or so it appears. Then you meet your first boss, idk his name. Fight him for a bit. I forgot to mention throughout this entire 10 minute beginning your powers are waning because of the council. After you start fighting the boss a cutscene appears you get beaten to shreds, summoned to the council, and court happens. War makes a deal with the council to hunt down those responsible for his summon. And thats it! Ep.1 is only like 2 minutes long, you missed nothing!
