But one thing that most likely is the problem, if your are wired, the wire may have gone bad as has happened to my Turtle beach before. When it does this you can plug it in and it will think its not plugged in and such.
You can re-order a new one off Turtlebeach.com, and or if you have bought the wire within 3 months of this date, it is under warrant and you can get a new one shipped to you.
