Intentional Griefing at the Temple?

I have been there yesterday to explore, put some iron in the donation chest and went into the red roofed building, i encountered no griefing but the cobble & dirt @ the spawner. I removed some of it to see what was behind it and saw the spawner, figure it was to keep monsyers out so i replaced it & left. Didnt grief tho, so im curious as of who dit it. Android get that logstick out!
