I don't understand why no one just hides there shit like 20 blocks underground in an isolated area e.e

This. Seriously, if you find a tree, go under the bottom long, dig straight down 20 blocks, make the grass grow back around it and then leave no one will ever find the thing you buried except by luck mining, and that's super-unlikely.
