Final point: Kony 2012 brings out what's wrong with the world in more ways than one. It shows great acts of evil, yes, but it also proves that the world's issues apparently need to be put on YouTube for them to be noticed by the younger population. This needs to change.

Why shouldn't we be using Youtube to communicate problems? Or did you mean something else?

He means to say that it for our us to notice what has been going on, it's literally had to have been thrown right infront of our faces on Youtube.

It's bad, or maybe not that bad. It shows that one, things have to come into our domain rather than us seeking them out but also how great the systems we use really are.

I wouldn't say it needs to change, it's just different from reading the newspaper which is in it's essence, the same thing.

What I meant was that the younger population needs to see the world's problems on sites like YouTube or Facebook in order to actually be informed about the world, which is a bad thing because only the organizations with the money or all-around resources to fund a large-scale advertisement will actually reach the world's youth. People don't go on YouTube to be informed about the world's problems (usually); they visit the site to be entertained. I think we (in the most collective sense of the term) need to start actually getting up to speed on the world's problems by going to news sites. My main point, I suppose, is that people are trying to seem politically aware by talking about Kony, when they have really just watched a video that has reached viral proportions. Many teens would stutter if asked what other evils are going on in the world other than the actions of Kony.
