Your story is well written. However, there is just one part missing. You said that half the villagers were murdered and most of them enslaved. What about your character? Did he somehow remained undetected? And when they left, then he came out of hiding to bury his parents?

Just want to be sure you include those details in there.

Also, do tell how your character found his way to the land of Kiwike.
