But who said and when that crop greifing with malicios intentions is illeagal. I wasn't aware of it and last I heard crop griefing, to any degree, was leagal. I feel like I should have at least bene warned before being banned for a rule that to my knowledge did not exist (to any extent).

Sorry the title of the ban was misleading, seeing as how we did declare earlier that so called 'crop grief' was legal. I'd say this is just general grief. In the ban descriptions we should be adding something to give the banned an idea of exactly what happened.
Also, if you're still doubtful, Gecko has a screenshot of the wheat simply waiting to despawn.
And no matter how manny crops i greifed it was still a crop grief.
