Promethia Declares Sovereignty!
New Despot On the Rise!

Earlier this week, Coras, and the people subjugated under him, had banded together to form one nation: Promethia. This new nation, supposedly sent by a far off and unheard of nation known as the Kingdom of Illia, was founded on a principle of despotism. The monarch, known as King Coras, along with his right-hand man, Mephisto Pheles, reserves ultimate power over the peasantry. In theory, this allows for quick responses to be made by the two co-rulers, as they are able to make any decision with little notice to anyone else. However, this is not so in Promethia.

Solitude, New Phalinx, and others have risen up to challenge the King in the past. Supposedly, these nations were the agressors; however, many InnSider reporters have questioned the many civilians of these towns. They offer a far different story. "We didn't start the attacks on Promethia," one New Phalinx resident stated. "A messenger from Coras had been sent to extort our leader. They tried to take our money, our possessions - our freedom. We denied their messenger, and, fearful of Coras's response, preemptively attacked - but only after being provoked." When citizens of Promethia were asked, it was stated that 'the agent was acting on their own accord'.

When the attacks did come, new revelations of the King Coras rose up. Where normally kings lead the front charge on the assault, Coras simply stayed in a cave, hoarding his possessions and fearful for his life. When the attacks increased, Coras first sent his own people into the battle; then, he turned to his allies, still unwilling to personally take to the fight. As a result, TUNA forces were directed to defend Coras and attack his enemies, costing the organization much in lives, equipment, and money - while Coras continued to stay in his caves.

It is unsure what the future of Promethia will be; but one thing is certain. Its past has been bloody, and its present is marred with political problems, civil unrest, and military weakness that will surely bring TUNA down.

Declaration of Independence
High Nobles Break Free From King Coras's New Nation!

Earlier today, Lord Sahure Aenon, Lord's Hand Yonny of Harrou, Sir Rawther the 7th Knight of Glory, Noble J'mes of the Wild, and Noble Stratomis of Solin declared in a public announcement to all nations that they would be independent from Promethia. Stating the reasons to be "Lack of culture, low activity of construction and defense, decimation of the landscape, and indifference from leaders", the assorted Nobles and Lords banded together and are now hoping to forge a new nation from the ashes of Coras's former lands.

Much speculation is being had as to what the response of Coras and the other nobles will be. Our InnSider reporters have, however, recently recieved word of Mephisto's response. A copy can be seen below.

"Dear Sahure,

I am both appalled and offended that you would slander the land that fed and protected your people. I bore no ill feelings at your wish to create a nation of your own and I resent such ungrateful words. Do not expect the support of Promethia which I had initially thought to offer you. We shan't call you an enemy but it may be long before we exchange friendly words once more.

With displeasure,
Mephisto Pheles"

It is obvious that the co-despots of the Promethian Monarchy are highly angered by this recent declaration. Whether the new independents will be considered as rebels to be quelled, or simply new neighbors, is yet to be seen. It should be remembered that history has shown us that Coras has never been one to let a close nation live in peace.

That's it for today. Please, remember to check your local Inn for a copy of this report, and always look forward to your local InnSider updates!
