I like the way you think sir. Maybe not something like having Terinion sing the rules, but an actual discussion in which the staff members present the argument to the player BEFORE administrative action is taken.
Perhaps, if it is a flame related incident they have to talk it out , if it is actual grief they should be allowed to fix it (without being bullied or killed), if it is hacks - well, actual hacking is a pretty big thing - but depending on the damage done I feel like one should be able to repay their debt somehow and show their actual desire to play on the server without abusing.
I like having players talk their differences out, and giving players a chance to fix their greifing. But hacks? It's impossible to go to an SMP server while being ignorant to the fact that hcks aren't allowed. I think that if we discover a person hacking, its an instaban. Not a permaban, but enough to let you know that cheating will not be tolerated. Maybe a day or two max. Second time I find you hacking, I WILL permaban. You'd best have darn good appeal to get out of that one.
