What use is PVP if people can just sequester themselves in impenetrable fortresses and wait until the PVPers go offline? Do we really want Kiwike to turn into a PVP server without PVP? Of course not. Instead of polarizing this issue, let's give towns easier ways to defend themselves. Cannons. Hot tar buckets. Make town wall blocks harder to break for invaders, and make them require higher level picks to go faster so they have to tactically mine. Have NPC sentries on towers you pay for that shoot at invaders. Pay more to give them flaming arrows. Rain potions on the invaders. Get creative and suggest more ways for towns to defend themselves. That is all.

Just make sure your underground bunker is down at bedrock, trust me, Im not going to spend my day running around the map looking down in hopes to find a tag underground. You could even live with 90% of the server hunting you down rather easily. Once you get plenty of goodies from mining, move to a city. They will offer some sort of protection if this passes, and you will be with numbers. If you make a good hidden chest somewhere we wont find your stuff. Not really a big deal surviving after nerfing protection if you use your imagination. Smiley

It's possible to take on anybody in PvP (assuming they aren't little girls building underground [in which case, you can still camp like we did against Cicatrix and get a few battles here and there]). If you don't have the numbers, get them by whatever means you wish (ally, recruit, invite people to the server, find some wolves, idgaf) - don't just quit because you don't want a challenge.

It is incredibly easy to gain materials and stock up for war - the map is barely scratched.

These three quotes sum up my opinion on the matter fairly well, especially Gecko's. The idea is to take a risk to try to make in game conflict. Get people interested again and make them want to play. We cannot be overly cautious or reluctant in what we do or change otherwise we will get no where and the server will be engulfed in inactivity and die as it currently appears that it is. Who cares if because of this there are some annoyances and small issues that are created, I'm sure you can be creative enough to figure out how to solve those problems. I believe that we all need a much more liberal look on how to fix the server, otherwise it will continue in the direction it is going and it won't even matter what we do anymore. I believe that removing absolute block protection is a vital and important step in restoring the server's activity, and it won't matter if is not implemented because nothing will have changed and we will still have the same problem we have been having for the last several months.
