I think there should be 4 forts in each quadrant of the map, holding the fort results in a cash payoff say, every rl saturday.
It would have mild block protection but also have pre made TNT cannons around it. Holding it would give you money and prestige as the dominant power, but also require you to spread resources effectively. nether portals should be blocked within a few hundred blocks as well. Each fort should be different and have a different resource that spawns with it as well as the currency that goes into the town bank.
