RE: Three year anniversary!
I don't know about moderating for me... Staff needs to be super nice and awesome so people will join and be like "oh yeah the staff here is great, the servers cool, I wana stay!"
Since I plan to be pretty much a dick to most people and become a rich hermit, people would get my game character confused with me moderating. The moderators need to be pretty much neutral.
I think the server needs to maintain a pretty wide PVP base, RP is fun and all but PVP is what made kiwike, kiwike. People gotta have opponents and reasons to build and expand.
That was the cool thing with 2.0, all the nations and towns where very open to manipulation. Look at Cornerstone, they continued to make annex after annex to provide room for their citizens, and it made it a very active town because people were always trying to expand and do things around the town.
I think most people now go into the server with their closed off groups and build their town of 5 semi active people and then try to fight other people. There needs to be better selection of who can make what, a capital needs to have 10 citizens to become a nation, a nation needs to have 3 towns, each with atleast 4 players.
Put in some heavy restrictions to make a town and get atleast two or three leaders who wont quit at anything to make their nations, and hopefully all those random new people that join the server for one hour will have a place to stay and decide they want to stay for more than an hour. Instead of roaming around in the wild they go to some player created place full of other players and get invited into their community.
That I think was the real issue with all the other worlds past 2.0, they were all very secluded and nobody wanted to be anybody who was new's friend.
