Three year anniversary!

Bvc, we actually thought of that towards the end of Revamped. Basically look at all the surrounding 8 blocks, and at least three of them have to be claimed in order to expand. This means the best expansion you could get is in a diamond shape. If I'm not stupid.

I also completely agree with asdf on the map size. A small community does not need a large map. I swear it's djfuzz and them people who keep pushing me to make huge maps. It makes sense if there's a lot of people, and it's strictly pvp and you want to hide your base. Anarchy sort of server. But I don't think that's what Kiwike people are looking for. I want new players to be able to join and find somewhere to live easily. Think Kiwike 1.0 if anyone remembers that. Or Kiwike 1.5 for that matter. Towns were like within 300 blocks of each other, which meant you saw other people that weren't from your town much more regularly. Players joined and could instantly start exploring the towns around spawn and see that the server wasn't dead.

In the server's current state, if one town starts to get inactive, everyone in the town will quit since they're so far away from everything else. It doesn't matter if there are people still playing on the other side of the world. If the map is kept small, it gives a greater sense of community.

Cerce, my point is that a lot of people care enough to discuss it, but don't care enough to actually get to work. And you might care enough now to spend all your free time on the server, but that definitely won't be the case in a few months, maybe in just a few weeks. People lose interest, and that includes staff members. You need a solid group of people who are invested in the server so that if one person lacks the time, someone else can fill their space.

I shouldn't criticize individuals, but I'm going to anyway so let's take seth's list as an example. Asdf has been on Kiwike for a long time but doesn't really stick around on the servers for very long, or gets involved with OoC RP plans or whatever. I've been working with iDie in the past, and he is a prime example of loving to chat a lot but never really getting work done. These are the two people who would be left to run the RP if you have to take some time off. It just won't work. Still love you guys tho.
