This has been resolved many times for those that have X-raying problems.
There are two main things X-rayers can do. The X-ray mod, sees minerals most of the time, rarely can find other things.
Where as the X-ray texture pack, can see through the ground and into spaces that have air blocks.
So there are a few solutions to this.
1. Cover your chest in Smoothstone, X-ray textures cant find it.
2. Get block protection, but a block over the chest.
3. If you do cover your chest, don't cover it with block that look extremely out of place. (Ex. Dirt on Lapis blocks).
This will stop you from having many X-ray problems, but that doesn't mean its not against the rules, it is.
