Second best betrayal I have seen on this server. This looks like it was done well - the PvP-ers got to fight, and the roleplayers now have an in-character reason to engage them wholeheartedly. I'd be surprised if my character doesn't jump in when he is made known of this - and Varutil would probably just sit back and watch the slaughter, then kill whoever is left. That's just me, personally, thinking aloud - that's not what /is/ going to happen in-game.

Tristo's betrayal of Blackrock back in 1.5, after the Fall of Bamboo during the Griefer Plague. He had grabbed one of the citizens, indoctrinated her in his ways, and then proceeded to corrupt Geckosquid, leaving me and Andy the only two 'sane' ones left. There was then an event where Cerce 'cleansed' Gecko, and Gecko then proceeded to join Andy and Cerce in taking Tristo down. However, the server switched to 2.0 before Tristo was ever truly taken down, and the Greifer Plague existed through him all the way until he married Saera.

Yotta. Gecko recorded it. Look for Andy's remarks on Tristo and Cynthetic. They tell the tale of Tristo's turning. Me and Andy agreed to split up - me to stop Gecko from committing suicide, and Andy to try and stop Tristo from turning Cynthetic into another 'griefer'.

If you were there, you would have understood my writhing anger at the announcement that lore and RP experiences would not transfer over.
And yes - the roleplays are a little 'noobish' compared to today's stories... but back then - this was the stuff.

And seriously, we all saw this coming. Its like they are ASKING for everyone on the server to be at war with them... They might be thinking they are invincible, but when the time comes, they will be all alone. With but 5 or 6 of them. I'd be surprised if they even created a nation that lasted a decent amount of time. With their backstabing tendencies, half of the population will probably be driven out by their own leaders :lol:
