RE: Neutrinos go faster than light
Excellent. Now to start producing my army of starships that travel faster than the speed of light.....

RE: Neutrinos go faster than light
Timetraveling using this is impossible, if you timetravel with it you will return to the state you were in at the moment you travel to, in the place you were at that moment and with the knowledge you had at that moment, making you reset your life over and over and getting stuck in an endless loop of you reliving your life over and over while making the same mistake to go into that time machine over and over again.

RE: Neutrinos go faster than light
My derp friend just asked me why we just dont build cars out of "this neutron stuff" since they will be "like super fast".
Sigh.

Lol Main XD
I'm still quite unclear at why its so magnificent that something is faster than the speed of light. Yes, this proves Einstein wrong, but still. If we can't even harness the speed of light as of yet, whats the difference with this?

Of course we can't harness it yet, or even possibly ever, however, if what they say is in fact true, it literally goes against the laws of physics, warping the knowledge of everything that is based on the speed of light, purely based on the potential that it is indeed possible to exceed the speed of light. The very way we conceptualise these facts and figures could change from these experiments.
Physics is amazing.
BTW time travel is possible, although only into the future, experiments at the Large Hadron Collider have proved that certain elements that travel near the speed of light will disintegrate ever so slightly slower than under normal conditions, because matter slows down, or should slow down near the speed of light as to not exceed it. In all, time travel to the future should be possible as long as we travel near enough to the speed of light. That is, unless this new discovery changes everything...

And yes, people on the IIS have technically travelled forward in time since gravity bends time and there is less gravity etc etc. Watching through the wormhole makes me feel smart

RE: Neutrinos go faster than light
Some guys took two atomic clocks, set to exactly the same time, put one on land, and put one in a plane. They drove the plane to mach 2, and then checked the clocks. The one on the plane slowed down by 20 nanoseconds, so technically, the drivers traveled 20 nanoseconds into the future.
