RE: A Plea for Moderation
I don't wan't to be harsh whatsoever, But Android, everytime i get on Terraria you are playing it.
As for the Mods increase in time because of school.
Sirsuba has literally gotten on for fifteen minutes at a time since he stepped down from Vikings. He was active for a little after that then just start dropping of the radar.
Nfmous hasn't been on in a month, and even when the server started he didn't get on much at all.
Kubrick just disseapered, But its only been a weak, he may be on vacation.
You have been playing Terraria since it came out.
Tristo just became mod, and even though he was just appointed and has only been on for maybe an hour or two, its been the most activity in weeks for mods.

RE: A Plea for Moderation
I'm sure with the onset of summer the number of mods online is going to increase. I know the last few weeks of school have been too busy for me to be online much...

RE: A Plea for Moderation
I'm afraid this isn't an easy fix or one that can be rushed for that matter. I'm going to delve into history (american history to be exact civil war to be exact) The Army of the potomac had been losing repeatedly because they were simply out generaled. why is this you ask? well it's because after mcclean had been removed all the other generals had been put into place without warning or knowledge how well they could lead an army the reason the union won at gettysburg was more lee's mistakes than meades victories. Do you want moderators that would be like a john pope and have no clue what they are doing? or would you rather have moderators who are like Ulysesses S. Grant who can lead your army to victory?(aka the server to being a better safer place) this is just one reason why it took so long to appoint tristo you don't put random hobos in a throne and tell them to lead your country you find a qualified person and that takes time to do.

RE: A Plea for Moderation
Let me be frank here, I logged on today, played a lot, and enjoyed it. I suppose I have realized that I may have not been so active due in part by Terraria and school work. I have more work to come over this next week, but be expecting me on as much as possible.

And Andy, I appreciate you American History references. That topic always interests me. Wink

Same, Android, same.

But back to the topic. I think that there should be a date set up where the people vote on if they are satisfied with current moderation, and why they are or aren't. We should then have some form of a concensus as to who the public wants as a mod, if indeed the majority is unsatisfied. Then, yotta and the gang would decide on a course of action. I think this covers all the bases....

I agree with Cerce. I think that if we had a vote on this it could be settled as quickly as possible and without much hassle.

RE: A Plea for Moderation
I don't think immediate action should be taken. School is a huge factor at the moment for mods. If we were to wait until about June 10th and watch mod attendance at that point then action could be taken depending on what would happen. I don't think a mod should be appointed right after tristo was and that there should be some time between that.

RE: A Plea for Moderation
Agreed... So, how about at June 25th we reconvene and form a decision on how we, as a public, should take action (or lack thereof)

RE: A Plea for Moderation
I agree very much to what you have said in this thread and I very much appreciate that you guys are taking the situation maturely instead of whining all over the place. I too have noticed a sudden inactivity amongst the moderation crew and they haven't told me why they are gone either which is kind of disappointing.

Me and Android have been discussing moderation positions and looked through the applications that we've gotten and we do have some people "on the queue". However, we prefer to wait between accepting moderators as we don't want to have the same thing happen as in January. A lot of you guys weren't around back then but basically we accepted about five moderators within a week, only to see three of them leave very soon to never be seen again.

With 1.6 being released this week I'm sure we will get back on track. In case this doesn't happen I will look into accepting 1-2 new mods pretty soon.

Thanks again for your words and ideas! Laugh
