RE: Nametags
SpoutCraft is not ready for it. It still has lots of issues. And it drives a lot of the player base away.

It's just one more stupid thing I have to install, also it will as Yotta has already said, drive away new members. Fact of the matter is that I am object to being required to install any mods and stuff to play on a server, it's stupid.

Repeating the word stupid doesn't make it stupid. It takes 3 seconds to download and install, is faster than the normal client, it has more options, built in macros, coloured chat, and many other features. If players can whitelist, I'm pretty sure they can download spoutcraft while main accepts them. -.- therefore your reasons are invalid.

No, in fact, my reasons are very valid. I personally ( and I'm not the only one that feels this way) would not join a server that required me to use spoutcraft. It is as I said just one more menial time wasting thing I have to go through and I don't view any of the feature as worth it to me that can't be found in a client mod.

Meh, then we cant have any features with nametags. And just to let you all know Around this time last year i was playing on servers with mods which has to be installed manually and there was like 50 people on most of the time, Spoutcaft is easy to install and gives alot of useful features, im not sure it would drive away that many players .

RE: Nametags
One of the downsides of Spoutcraft is how clunky it is. They just add more features all the time. All I want is a nice server-client API. Optifine lowers my fps a lot, which is why I still prefer using the vanilla client.

So yeah, not ready for prime time.

That's the thing, it's not a "menial time wasting thing", if you can't click a link to download it (I conveniently posted them above) then you have problems.

What You make no sense. The whole point of the Spout client is so players do not have to install client mods, they are (will be) installed automatically when you join the server.

tl;dr It will not drive away the players we want, the role-players.

But, as yotta said, it does have a lot of stuff that doesn't need to be there. Although it will most likely be streamlined in the future.
