That's the point Ian is trying to make, it's as simple as pressing one or two buttons. And yeah, lots of people don't want to give up their xray mods
On a more serious note, they can still use their client mods when not using Spoutcraft. Just saying.
Besides, the number of players you have to "sacrifice" will depend on how you advertise the server. If you do like all other servers and then add to the side "oh btw guys you need Spoutcraft", then yes, not as many people would join. However, advertising the server as "a new and unique experience using never before explored parts of the amazing spout API to give players an unique Minecraft experience without the command hassling mess", then it might just get more players by being more unique.
We do have some technology challenged people on kiwike. Though that wasn't the main point I was trying to make, there are a whole host of cons to spoutcraft. I just think we would be better off finding another solution to our problems.

You can't very well shut down the main viable option for no other reason than you want to include 'technologically challenged'. I'm on a MACBOOK and I haven't successfully installed one mod to date and I still have spoutcraft. If anything, it's hard to believe so many people playing minecraft (on a computer) lack the intelligence to install such (me). If anything do we really want players who have a hard time downloading such an easy-to-get application on our server?

Have you addressed the other problems which I mentioned earlier?

RE: Nametags
This is Yottas server, leave him alone, he can do what he wants and what they think is best, and enforcing spout is not the best. Don't like gtfo.
