The life of Andronost of the house of Galarfin
Andronost was born with the old world at the beginning and is old even by elven standards. In the first 200 hundred years of the world everyone was at peace and elves and humans alike flourished. During this time the kingdom of the elves was born and being one of the oldest and wisest of elves Andronost was appointed to be a lord and adviser to the king. While exploring the unknown reaches of the world Andronost came upon something strange. It was a tree that was so large it reached up past the clouds and whose roots seemed to be the fabric of the world itself! Needless to say he was awed by it's majesty and went to feel the trunk. A strange sensation overtook him as he did, it was like another being was entering his own mind. He tried to shut it out but the being was of incredible power and he had no chance. "Welcome first born I am glad to see that my creations are thriving. I am it that made this world and it that holds it together. Now that you have found me tell your people of me and you may live with me in splendor and joy." Andronost took his hand of the tree trying to think of what to say but all he managed was "Thank you O great one."
So Andronost did as the tree had commanded and the people were glad and followed him to the tree. The tree was glad and made them houses out of living wood and created walls of trees to protect them. The people called this dwelling Eil and lived happily for a very long time. They prayed to the tree and their prayers were answered and the tree told them what it needed and they did it, and so the tree was happy to be in the company of it's creations. But a strange cloud of black was seen on the horizon and the people asked the tree "What is that strange darkness on the horizon?" And the tree said to them "To every light there is a darkness and i fear that by not making any myself i have upset the balance and though the world is mine I cannot control all it does and so it has created the darkness itself." Every day the darkness drew nearer the tree told the people how to craft swords and armor and other devices of war and they obeyed.
When the darkness reached them Andronost was the first to see what it was made of, they were strange green creatures that looked as though they had been elves once. But their eyes did not burn with intelligence, they burned with hatred and they attacked the walls the tree had made. Andronost led a brigade of men under his banner showing a great eagle (for he loved eagles) with a yellow background. These creatures were skilled in the art of war but the tree had trained the elves well and before long they lay dead at the feet of the elves. Many great elves were killed but even more of the creatures were.
The people asked the tree what the creatures were and the tree replied "I shall name them orcs for they deserve no better a name" And from that day forward the elves were mortal enemies of the orcs. For a while after the battle there was peace for the army they had killed was the main force of the orcs. During this time Andronost decided it was time to raise a family as many others had already done. As he was a lord the ladies of the realm were very eager to have him as a husband, but he didn't find anyone for a very long time. But as time went on he met a young woman who shined like a lantern to him lighting his way and guiding him. This woman was named Eonwe and they were married with the tree overlooking them. The celebration was joyous and the tree itself gave them a gift, but this gift was special, it was a a strange blue crystal that the tree called lapis lazuli. Andronost asked the tree what the gift could do but the tree simply replied "you will find out in good time." And so it was that Andronost was married and had offspring of his own.
The orcs began mustering their forces again and the elves were ready this time with help from the humans of the realm. But this time was different Even with the help of the humans the elves could barely hold off the orcs. Andronost was told to be in reserve for the but seeing his friends dying infuriated him. He led his brigade on a valiant charge that drove the orcs back and sent them running to the hills. He engaged the orc captain in a bloddy one on one duel. The orc was incredibly powerful, the muscles on it seemed to have no limit and would surely kill him. But as he thought about what would happen if he died something of immense power shot from the lapis lazuli he had made into a pendant. The orc fell dead and his comrades fled(sorry about it rhyming)
Of the elven army of 100,000 only 50,000 came back to Eil. It was the bloodiest battle in elven history and the elves knew they couldn't withstand another attack like it. But the orcs were again dispersed and few so the elves had another period of peace. But that peace was to be ripped from Andronost as an orc raid targeted his house. He and his family killed all of them... save one. His eyes burned with a flame of blue as though he was tapping into some unknown power. Before he could do anything the orc lifted his hand and right before his eyes his family was burned with an unquenchable blue flame. Out of dismay and anger he took his sword and drove it into the chest of the orc with all the power he could muster. The pendant about his neck glowed as if it were responding to his emotions and the sword caught fire as hot as the sun. As the sword pierced him the orc let out a scream of anguish as though a million people cried out together at once, and then silence. He then went to see his family, all of them were dead and barely recognizable from the charring of their flesh. The last words his wife said to him were "never let this happen to anyone else." and then her last breath left her body.
Andronost was In anguish and grief. The woman he loved, the children they were raising, gone just like that. He prayed to the tree for guidance and the tree said "fulfill your wife's last wishes the pendant about you neck will be your guidance." And so Andronost opened his mind to the pendant. The wisdom it held amazed him, the pendant seemed alive. Within it he found knowledge about a realm called the nether and he believed it was this realm that fueled the power of the orc. So he went into the nether and discovered its many secrets the greatest of which was nether wart which allowed him to imbue water with unimaginable powers.
And through his studies he put spells over the elves and humans to protect them from orc like the one that had killed his family. And so his meaning was fulfilled and he knew not what to do. So again he prayed to the tree for guidance and the tree told him "There will be one who needs your guidance in this world wait for him and you shall know him when you see him." So Andronost waited years while expanding his knowledge of the arcane waiting on the one the tree foretold. Until 56 years before the destruction of Eil this was not fulfilled but when Andronost first looked at Tristoneon the pendant glowed as if it knew this was the person he was to watch over. And so it was as the tree foretold and Andronost raised Tristoneon as his own. Here ends the story of his life in Eil because as you know the tree was destroyed and he transported to kiwike.
