The current rules on raiding are very confusing, at least to me. I have no idea if, during age one, we are allowed to raid or wage war upon other colonies.
Could a game mod/admin explain the rules in further detail?
I want to know things including the following:
- May I KoS if I was told to by a leader?
- May I KoS someone who is backing up someone I'm attacking?
- May I kill someone who hit me even if they had no valid reason to do so?
- May we KoS on raids? What if we don't make our presence known?
- May we even raid? Wage war on people living in certain areas?
I'll top this all off by saying that I will reply to absolutely nobody who accuses me of powergaming other than a game-mod/admin. The flaming has ruined how people are looking at me.
It's Coras. ಠ_ಠ

RE: Age One Raids
I'm just going to say now that this is getting far out of hand. The rules are so ambiguous and with so many loopholes that they can be broken with a simple lie. I'm sick and tired of rules being so flimsy that a lie can be the difference between a ban or not. I've personally had 3 people lie in order to KOS me during raids, and it's getting tiresome. I'm going to end up FRAPSing everything again if people are going to start lieing in order to avoid banzorz.

It's funny that you should say there are loopholes in the rules.
Unlike a place like the United States, where the Supreme Court must decide upon exactly what is written in the Constitution to reach a verdict, we withhold the right to make any major changes to the system that we should see fit, without promoting biased stances within our team of course.
The ambiguity, if any, should serve to keep users on their toes in terms of what they're doing. If it comes down to whether this person truly feels what they're doing is justified is right or not, and if they think it has the slightest chance of being grief or something of the like, they could easily call a moderator over or just stay away from it until they're sure that it'd be ok.
A common misconception, which I've seen Crashlander04 withhold, is that you can find a 'loophole' and use it to your advantage whilst knowing what you're doing is wrong, and get away with it. In the end, what the staff decides is the reality.
That said, I suppose I may have gotten a tad bit off topic, but like I've already mentioned, Tristo is finishing up his addition to the rules to give some visible and viable borders to the standards of Revamped RP.

RE: Age One Raids
Crash actually hasn't raided us...
And fyi, do you think I have ANY control over where I live or how the laws work? I'm 17. I realized a while ago that the US Legal System was bullshit. That has NOTHING to do with this. There needs to be a stricter set of rules; the ambiguities that people get away with crossing here would NEVER have flown in my WoW RP servers. People who killed for NO reason were warned ONCE. The rules allowed for no ambiguity; Mods had no way to have leeway because the rules had PURPOSE and MEANING, something the RP rules here don't. The rules here are far lighter than WoW RP servers have, I understand. But is there a need for the rules we do have to be so flimsy that not a single damn mod can agreeon what is legal or illegal? All I'm asking is for continuity; if we have rules, make sure they can be and will be kept. Else is anarchy, chaos, and knave-rule. It becomes a server where lies dictate, not Mods or Admins.
Also, I'm fine with being flexible, but be flexible with a backbone. Don't let people walk all over rules, because at that point, there are none.

It's funny because the US legal system is brilliant, but I'm just saying that by going towards the other end of the strict-flexible spectrum, we have a clear way of stopping any and all loopholes.
And I wasn't speaking about Crash raiding you, I was speaking about his habit of trying to use loopholes that don't exist.

RE: Age One Raids
It truly isn't. The laws in our Constitution are SO undetailed that they are almost impossible to interpret. I still think we should have flexibility, but not too much. Rules are rules for a reason.

Admin Edit - Stupid
Last time I checked, this thread wasn't about the USA so let's get back on topic.

RE: Age One Raids
I would like to remind people that we're new to the whole RP-enforcing thing, so please cut the staff some slack. We're in the process of figuring things out.
Love,
