RE: Build me a computer.
$1000 is a great budget if it's only the PC and not screen, keyboard and mouse too. I know the Radeon HD 7950 is an amazing card for overclocking and you can get up to 140% of the performance if you overclock it. This makes it probably the best card on the market, as an overclocked 7950 is just a notch better than the GTX 680 in most games.
As you can see from this graph, the 7950 is a great card but not close to the best ones.
Now, look at the average FPS when it's overclocked to 1200/6000 Mhz
Of course, the 7950 definitely isn't cheap, probably twice the cost of a 560 Ti, so it might not fit your budget. Just thought this information might be useful.
Btw, the graphs are partially in Swedish but it says "Higher is better (FPS)" and green is the average and red the lowest fps.

Anyway, PCs > Macs, every mac is pre built, which means it's almost double the price of the parts that you buy to build a PC. Also, having used both Macs and PCs, Macs are not made for gaming AT ALL. IF you would get a Mac, you need to use windows on it, to run games, but that would still be a waste of your money buying the prebuilt thing instead of the parts.

I don't know what you are going from there, but all gaming computers are PCs because of the cheaper cost for the same parts, better upgrade-ability (or should I say any upgrade-ability), more options to begin with. If you are going for being able to play any game with decent FPS on anything higher than bare minimum settings, then you need something much more powerful than any mac cheaper than $2500, a home-built $1000-$1500 PC sounds like the right choice to me. However, I do agree that the mouse that asdf recommended is awesome.
No PC is more reliable. We have a PC, and it is the most unreliable piece of shit you can buy. There is always issues with the hardware and software, Microsoft can't make a decent os, thats why they replace their old one every year. And I dont mean they add a few things to better the experience. They scratch the old one and try to make something better, which ends up being just as buggy as their old system. Plus, on macs you can run Windows if you really want to now. Have been able to for years (since they started using intel based chips). My four year old iMac can run most new games (sc2, d3, ext) on medium with decent FPS.
Dont get me wrong, gaming on a PC obviously is better for the game selection, but I'd rather use something that makes since and is easy to use and navigate.
The other issue with getting a completely new PC, excpecialy when you have a say $1000 budget, is you dont get to spend what you really are going to want to spend on parts. You have to get a new monitor, mouse, keyboard, the actual os, external speakers, everything. That right there can cut you one fourth or one third short of your actual budget, that is of course if you want to buy decent stuff.
Plus, can you get a 12 core unit with PC? I think not.

RE: Build me a computer.
Recommendations for a 600-700 limit? PC of course, because Macs are terrible.
I'm not caught up with the whole, which is better Graphics card, etc. I just want something that will be able to run the newest games for at least a year or two, on fairly good graphics.

asdf, please stop. You just make yourself look stupid when you make ignorant arguments like the one you're making. There are so many options for PCs, so you'll get an unreliable one if you make bad choices when buying, and an extremely reliable one when you make the right choices when buying. Also, that $1000 will cut you off even shorter with a mac. That mac that you showed before was refurbished to begin with, so it was much cheaper, and it's performance could be destroyed by a PC with all the external parts included that costs the same amount. A mac is definitely not the right choice as far as trying to save money, they are so much more expensive than PCs. Finally, if you want up to 16 cores in a PC, check this motherboard out, it can hold 2, 8 core xeon processors: http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.as...oards&sw=5
With all the parts needed for a computer installed into this motherboard, including a very nice grapics card, it costs much less than the $5000 apple is trying to charge you for their 12 core computer. Also, is it possible to overclock the CPU, GPU, or RAM on a mac? If it's not, then that's even more reason to get a PC.
