This is how it works:

If you bought before Beta, you get everything in the future for free. Expansions, full version etc.
If you bought during Beta, you still get the full game. However, you don't get expansions and such. Notch did this because his lawyers didn't like the way it was. You will still get the full game and all future updates.

Hmmm, i never thought that Mojang would release DLC's. I'm pretty sure indie-developers usually dont.
But then again, Notch have been more successful than most others.

They are still waiting for another patch from Notch.. They don't recommend hosting public servers with the latest version as its really glitchy.
