The Lapiz Church
Lapiz lazuli has long been known among the mages of the realm as the well. All mages have sources, beings that choose to let the mages use their lifeforce to perform magic. Lapiz allows mages to store power drawn from their source to prevent constant drain. The use of a well can stimulate the magical power in a young mage and unlock their full potential. Ezrin's mother's well was able to unlock Ezrins true powtential, one not seen in a mage for centuries. Since this event the Azurian people have formed a church around this magic focusing on the power inherent in lapiz.
((note i had this idea long before the redstone cult started so please dont accuse me of copying mmk?))
