Stupid Question
We had someone get into Ruenge recently (not a huge surprise) and they took the charcoal from our furnaces, not a big deal. The thing is they got to an area that should only be able to be accessed by breaking wooden planks or bookshelves, unless they reached through a wall to get to some switches. So was I wrong in thinking that wooden planks and bookshelves are covered by block protection or what? I guess the build and destroy permissions were on for "ally", but I didn't think we were in an alliance with anyone. What did I get wrong here?

RE: Stupid Question
Someone from the town broke them for him, most likely.

I sort of doubt that since 1: I know all the residents of Ruenge personally (i.e. IRL), and 2: we are a commune, so they were helping the guy steal from themselves.

RE: Stupid Question
There are some issues with towny that could have allowed this.
I whont go into the details in Public, seeing its considered an exploit.
I'll take a look at the things ingame to see if i can shed some light on the story for you

RE: Stupid Question
You can't hack through blocks. It's not a problem with the protection, you have a mole.

RE: Stupid Question
Alternitively it's always possible that one area of town has accidentally been left unprotected. I know for a while iwth azureglade we had a wall that was unprotected and we couldnt figure why people could enter so easily.

There are certainly areas that are unprotected, that's how they got in. But the place they got to could not be accessed without breaking blocks within town limits.
