Would you look at that? Fox News is back again, talking about Hollywood's liberal agenda. This one complaining about The Secret World of Arrietybring anti-1% (despite being written in the 50s) and The Lorax's ideas of conservation. That second makes them look like dumbasses for sure, since that's what THE MOVIE IS ABOUT! So, what do you think about this? Oh, and if you have any other Fox News clips like this, feel free to post them. I know I have at least 3 at home

Must have been a slow day for outrage if they were playing the "entertainment is indoctrinating our young" card.
The link with Arriety is weak, they're stretching to make it work. I mean really, the idea is that the liberal media is pushing Obama's campaign for him through Arriety, but that makes no sense since Obama's speech was only a few days ago. Arriety has been in development for years--are they going to claim the Liberals have powers of foresight or something? People need to learn that correlation is not causation, seriously.

The Lorax need less stretching, but I've never understood what the Conservatives have against Green technology and lifestyles. If the pro-Green people are right, then we're saving ourselves; if they're wrong the worst thing we'll have done is invented some new technologies and possibly altered lifestyles a bit. The horror . . .

Also, the Fox approved method of fighting the Green movement--littering . . . indoors.
Even as a joke that's stupid.

Especially since the book it's based off of, The Gatherers, was written in the 1950s. Fox News really is desperate to stir up controversy (see The Muppets, Flower, etc.) and this is the latest target. I noticed it was a fairly slow news day, so they had to resort to something .
But, this is a stretch to the extreme. I mean, there are some remotely- and I mean remotely- liberal ideas, but they are not brainwashing out kids with it.

It's undeniable that the Lorax is pushing a liberal idea, but that's what the book, and now the movie, is intended to do. If anything, the movie is pushing it less than the book. And, green technology is a good thing either way because much of the technologies will end up being cheaper ways to make products
