Minecraft Name: astv25
Previous RP experiences:
I've played on a couple of RP servers but they weren't too strict on OOC chat. Metagaming was an insta-ban on one (for about a week), other than that, not much RP experience in Minecraft. Amateur Dungeons n Dragons player, however so I can RP and be funny whilst I do it.
Have you played on any other servers? Why did you leave?:
I've played on a mix of Survival, RP, Anarchy (mostly those), and a few servers hosted by friends. I left any Anarchy server because of hackers and general disagreeable characters. The survival servers I left because people stopped donating and the server went bankrupt. The most recent RP server I left because an admin gave up and griefed the entire game world.
What feature of Kiwike are you most interested in?:
An RP experience that won't end in tears. But seriously, it's been a while since I gave my RP skills a good run through and the break from pvp anarchy will be beyond wonderful. You learn to get really paranoid when you play nothing but anarchy servers for months.
How did you hear about Kiwike:
floof09, one of the players I stayed in contact with from another server, was looking for servers and found Kiwike, which our group agreed looked like fun. So, here we (floof09, chipmonk0155, and me) are.
Character
Character Name: Julian
Spawn Location (Khulu Desert, Orraku Fields, Icenfjord, Aridian Jungle): Khulu Desert
Gender: Male
Age: 33
General Background Information:
Julian is a master electrical engineer who was blasted into this world by an accident in one of his many experiments. He formerly lived in a small industrial town where he grew up surrounded by factories and the like. He was fascinated by electricity from the moment he tossed a toaster into a bathtub (no one was in it at the time) just because someone warned him about not doing so when the tub was occupied. He followed the electrician who came to repair the damage he'd caused like a puppy, somewhat because he was afraid of getting in the tub until the electrician assured him it was safe as long as the toaster was not in with him, but mostly out of curiosity. His parents, semi-impoverished factory workers, were delighted that their child seemed to have a knack for working with electricity and urged him to become an electrician like the one who came to fix the toaster fiasco. After growing up thinking he'd be an electrician, Julian surprised everyone by becoming an electrical engineer instead. He'd found the training to be an electrician too easy was his excuse. After getting his degree, he was eagerly hired by one of the companies that had several industrial sites around his home town.
After working for the company for about ten years, he was promoted to the rank of Master Electrical Engineer. He was in charge of every other electrical engineer that he'd formerly known as colleague. As a result of workplace animosity, he spent large amounts of time tinkering in his basement. During a heavy storm, an experiment went awry and he lost his left arm. After a year of painstaking labor, he built himself a robotic replacement, but hides it beneath his clothing because it usually terrifies people.
He has a knack for being able to make something useful out of just about anything he can find and is helped by the fact that he carries a toolkit wherever he goes, some larger tools on his belt, and most precision tools stored in his arm, which he has come to view as superior in terms of efficiency over his old arm. In addition to his skill with electrical systems, he's proficient at most other forms of engineering as a result of his schooling, making him extremely valuable to any employer who would wish to hire him. Well, back where he came from, of course. As a result of his semi-impoverished upbringing, he's able to make do with the most basic of supplies and attempts to waste nothing at all.
Physical Condition/Description (what do they look like, what do they wear, all physical elements of a character):
A weather-beaten master electrical engineer. Few facial features are seen because of the large goggles he wears and the beard he keeps impeccably groomed. Due to an electrical accident caused when a severe storm disabled several safety measures, his left arm has been replaced with a robotic prosthetic he built himself. The arm, however, is hidden beneath his clothing to protect it from the elements and to prevent it from terrifying everyone he meets. He wears a partial faraday suit due to the nature of his work, over which he wears a set of grease stained orange coveralls. Obsessed with safety after the accident, he also wears a hard hat everywhere. A dedicated worker, he never leaves home without his toolbelt.
What is your character's main objective? What do they wish to gain out of this experience of living?:
Julian the master electrical engineer has two goals in life. His first goal (and the one he wishes to fulfill the most) is to find some way to return home. He was in another accident (unfortunate streak of luck such as his) which is presumed by his family and friends to have killed him. The accident, of which he remembers little, left nothing but a pile of ash in his workshop and sent him to a strange sandy island filled with creatures his mind initially refused to comprehend. He despaired for a few days, lamenting what he presumed to be his death and wondering what sort of afterlife allowed him to be injured and starve. He was beginning to lose all hope when he was swept underground by a river while he attempted to make some crude tools out of some tree branches. When the harrowing water slide deposited him next to a pile of strange red powder, he was too curious to be depressed. After he discovered that the powder, once stabilized into a gel with some water, acted as both an electrical conductor and, somehow, a power source, he realized he might have a chance to return home, given enough time to experiment. His second goal, minor such as it is, was formed when he finally found another human being. His secondary objective in life is to show everyone he meets the wonders of electricity, as many have forgotten of the technological wonders of their past lives. Some, however, are from a time before electricity, and require more explaining of this "witchcraft" Julian is so proficient at performing.

<ooc> Note: If you saw me in-game with the Gordon Freeman skin, I've found a custom skin built to match the description of Julian the master electrical engineer given here.
