Previous RP experiences: I have RPed on forums for years, and been part of an RP group on the MMO RuneScape, but never in minecraft. I am a pretty keen writer though.
Have you played on any other servers? Why did you leave?: I have played on the Crimson gaming server but left to join a friends one. That then later shut down because there was no money for it, so now I'm joining here.
What feature of Kiwike are you most interested in?: RPing! It's been a while since I've got to flex my writing muscles and the nations system looks excellent.

Character Name: Xela
Spawn Location (Khulu Desert, Orraku Fields, Icenfjord, Aridian Jungle): Icenfjord
Gender: Male
Age: 40s
General Background Information: An engineer by trade for a grand mining collective, he once experimented with the occult and the use of runes and was expelled from his order. Alas, they held no power for him, and so he came to seek solitude in the icy wastes and regain some of his skill in mechanics and construction.
Detail on the collective: The Irulian Corporation was the grandest mining collective in the world. With vast mineral wealth obtained through its extensive mines (and legions of willing miners) it funded the creation of great towers and spires to spread its control across the nations it inhabited and secure ever greater riches.
As the chief engineer for the Corporation, Xela was responsible for the security of the hoard and solving the problem of controlling the distant outposts as they grew ever further away from the headquarters. He worked on the security problems day and night, creating the great masterpiece of his life: The Vault of Rare Riches. However, while focusing on the technical challenge of the locks and traps, he neglected to work on improving transport to the outposts... and the miners revolted. They stormed the Vault and robbed the finest treasures the collective had mined.
In shame, he began to obsessively study ways he could have prevented the thefts. Irulian survived, but the failure was a stain on Xela's pride. Eventually his research led him into the use of runes to devise even more fiendish traps, instantaneous teleportation and the secrets of floating fortresses. None of these plans ever came into fruition, and the directors saw him as mad, firing him and exiling him from all the regions of Corporation control.
Physical Condition/Description (what do they look like, what do they wear, all physical elements of a character): He's no warrior, being older and more intellectual. Wearing the battered hat of a miner and the red overalls of a member of the mechanic's guild to this day, he has some strength in him but not a lot. A relatively tired old face, he's also fairly short. Pretty much: nothing too remarkable.
What is your character's main objective? What do they wish to gain out of this experience of living?: Redemption. He's a newcomer to the land, and doesn't know about these nations and wars forming, although I'm sure he could find a side to take. For the most part, he wishes to retreat and master his crafts in a warren carved into the ice.
To an extent OOC: While this application would imply he's going to be nomadic, I'm really rather hoping there will be a collective of some sort he can stumble into and join (potentially when the second age begins as a natural time to move his story along) as I prefer that sort of playstyle.
