Mushrooms?

I cant place mushrooms outside. I placed cobble down outside and tried to put the mushroom on it, and it didnt work. I placed a mushroom on cobble in a big room I made underground and it worked. When I try to use bonemeal on it, it doesnt grow into a big shroom. Is this a pluggin or something? I want mah big shrooms! D:

But how!? It doesnt let me place mushrooms on the floor in a big open field, wtf is dis sheet! Lava had encountered this issue the other day too, but in town.

Big mushrooms can only be grown on dirt/grass. Also, mushrooms seem to be really picky about where they're placed these days.

You're unable to place mushrooms in rawr daylight, I'm able to place them on dirt at night but not during sun light.

Yeah I don't think mushrooms like light levels more than 12, such as next to light sources or in day light.
