I had to skim through the rules again to understand what my ban meant.

I'm just wondering where my 1x1 tower is. I can't remember building it.

One by one towers are literal towers made out of any block leading through the air - left by the ones who built it. The creator may have died from a fall or have had other reasons for leaving it there, but we don't allow them because they look extremely ugly and ruin the landscape in every case. Chances are, you forgot to remove a 1x1 tower you made.

Your 1x1 was in an area of shallow water in a jungle biome. It was made of cobblestone and was about 10 blocks tall. It also had 2 torches on it. I hope that helps

1x1 rule can be kinda stoop... I mean, if someone is going around doing it on purpose, then sure, ban em. But most of the time its people who yeah, die or forget. Its not like they are greifing anybody, and 10 blocks? I swear. Its like everybody on this server WANTS to ban each other.

I know what the offense means now, but the only 1x1 tower I built was maybe 6 (apparently 10) blocks tall to mark an underwater ravine. I was under the impression that 1x1 towers were only against the rules when used to scale enemy walls or build up to a kiwiship, but now I understand they are against the rules in all cases.

Is a one day ban pretty typical for a first time offense such as this?

To be completely honest with you asdf, I would very much like any person who placed super ugly towers everywhere to stop, and that's the reason for the rule.

1x1 towers don't grief anyone, you're right, and that's why it's not in the griefing section of the rules.

As you can see by his reply, he now knows they're not allowed in all cases, hmm? It proved its purpose.

Now, if it was a first offense, I would have simply issued a warning, but Spammuff thought otherwise for whatever reason.

I wasn't intending on appealing this ban, but I had just finished building my house last night so I want to play pretty badly.

I acknowledge that I was in the wrong, but I'd like to pull from the rules real quick:

"1.1 Three Strikes, You’re Out

In general, unless otherwise stated, a three strike system is applied to the handling of most rule violations.

First, a verbal warning or kick warning is given.
Next, a temporary ban for a certain amount of time is issued.
Finally, should one continue to violate the rules, a permanent ban is given.

If a player is found in violation of any rule/rules, they can, depending on the type and severity of the violation, be banned without prior warning. Moderators reserve this right, as well as the choice to follow the three strike system depending on the severity of the violation/s."

I agree that moderators reserve the right to skip directly to a ban, but I honestly believe this is pushing it. This is the first time I have ever stepped out of line and I didn't do it knowingly or willingly. I had just found my first ravine, ever, and it was underwater! (I stared at it for a full 5 minutes because I was so scared, I didn't know what it was). On top of that, after swimming up and out of it, I came out into my first, ever, rain forest. I was a little shell shocked and feeling very far from home so I did the first logical step: I marked the ravine's entrance so I wouldn't get lost. Granted, I marked it how I usually do in single player without even thinking of it and it ended up being against the rules.

This isn't something I plan on continuing. I really do believe that 1x1 towers are unattractive. I merely got caught up in the moment and now I've learned my lesson.

Please reconsider.
