The Nostalgia Thread- And A Bit of Hope (Poll)

I don't know what brought me back here, to be honest. My life for the past couple of years has been full of change, love, loss, heartbreak, opportunity, success, and failure, but somehow, after all of that, I feel an inextricable connection to this place. Somehow, this still feels real. I think that I--no, a lot of us--put Kiwike behind us because we had to do something with our lives that made us feel like we were worth something. And I'm there now, so here I am, walking through the ashes of all of these incredible memories.
And that's what I'm realizing. They were incredible. Just sift through some of the archived lore threads and it'll all come flooding back. We created a world for ourselves, and we lived it. I'm not just talking about the RP; that isn't the point. The Kiwike community was its own microcosm of friendship, betrayal, and reconciliation that existed outside the bounds of our usual lives. Whether or not we got along at the time, we all share the fact that at some point in our lives, we escaped to the same place with each other. It was like a cyber-orgy where Android was the dominant to our collective submissive.
It would feel like a missed opportunity to post this just to invoke nostalgia. Don't get me wrong, I want us to reminisce, but it would be doing a disservice to this meta-realization I've had about the incredible uniqueness of the Kiwike community for me to leave it there.

If enough of you respond positively to this poll, I will personally go through the preparations needed to start up a barebones server for us to experiment on. If that fails, then fine, we let this thing fade into memory forever. But I miss you fuckers, and though I have no idea how to actually host a server, I'm persistent enough that I promise I can find someone who will. Come on, now. For old time's sake. Let's make something new.

You worded that well. Haven't really given it a thought, but you are correct. We had a really nice tight community of people from all over the world. While we had a lot of differences and arguments, we still had a lot in common. At this point, since all those disagreements took place so long ago, it doesn't really affect you emotionally at all. All you really feel is nostalgia. I can sit back and reminisce about the griefing attacks, hunts for hackers, multiple wars and disagreements about the rules and just smile.

Kiwike was an amazing place to go and escape the real world. I suppose it was a form of escapism in the end. We (in every sense) built our own world and shared it with each other. It was pretty awesome.

Anyway. I might be able to host a server in the near future, as I will have free access to a server that's much more powerful than the server that the website is running from. I'm even considering playing on it. Haven't put a lot of thought into the details yet though.

Yes, Kiwike was awesome but it cannot be repeated in the same form and we shouldn't try to. That does not mean that you cannot make a new server, tough.

I would choose the sixth option : I would sometimes help, sometimes play as I don't have much time on my hands.
