Assigning memory pretty much never helps anything. Make sure your Java is updated, try playing around with the Spoutcraft settings. If you're still getting bad performance, I have no idea. Get a proper PC, I guess.

Use the vanilla launcher and install optifine with MCPatcher. Also, use an 8x8 or lower texture pack.

I use vanilla and happily get 15-30 fps. When I use spout, I grudgingly get 1-10 fps. It also crashes when the minimap is enabled on the server, so I just avoid spout. Even if yotta does have a few neat little extras for the people with good enough computers to even consider handling spout.

Spout is terrible for some reason the text on it for me is extremely big and I can't read anything.
