What is Kiwike missing in your opinion!

What about a war that revolves around a "death tax"? Every time someone dies money is subtracted from their account. Once their account is empty it comes from the town bank. Once that is empty the town falls and can be looted/pillaged. The winning party also gets all of the townblocks of the old town so they can chose to spare the town destruction and just add it to their own empire and tax the citizens. This means that 1) Residents have to be online 2) Block protection remains until the town falls 3) The wealthier the town the longer it lasts but there is less of an incentive to destroy a small hamlet since they only have 12 townblocks.
