Besides, why did they need to destroy it to begin with?

it was two wooden fences, it was hardly a pain to replace. The harshest punishment anyone should have got for that was a warning and if the problem persists maybe a ban. And they needed to destroy it to gain access to a farm. my suspicions are that people are just using petty destruction acts as a way to try and hit back at people that have annoyed them, within server rules. like if they were robbed etc.

Look. If the rule isn't enforced who's going to follow it? the more people can get away with the bolder they'll get

But if it gets forced too much, it could become griefing in itself, its like saying you can raid and steal, but you must leave everything clean and spotless when your finished. someone has to seriously consider and define more closely where the harmless line stops and bannable begins.

Haha, I love how you forgot to sign off your other account Pavja.

What I did though wasn't much worse than metagaming wich occurs all the time, a simple warning would have set me straight.
Banning just causes more disrespect and "flaming".

RE: The definition of griefing
Which is why a revision of the rules should be proposed to yotta. Go right ahead, sir.

The fence was holding back wildlife, he just killed it all. And if we allowed one person to grief two blocks, why wouldn't everyone just grief two blocks.

You want a fully functioning RP experience but you ban people who do just that. you should be able to do what you like ,in a RP sense, without the fear of getting banned. Creator's character was a pirate and he was raiding, He shouldn't have to stop and think, well i should probably not go in there because i might get banned :/. He was acting the way his character would have acted, a minor 'grief' like that should not have been a bannable offence. The fact is that if this were a RP experience, you would realise that he was raiding and he broke into the farm to pillage, exactly what pirates do. your giving contradictory rules. even in 2.0 people would get banned for minor offences. Can you please reconsider your rules and define in more detail what each rule is.

RE: The definition of griefing
Quote:2) Griefing

Generally, “griefing” is anything you do that interrupts another player’s game experience. It can be as simple as ruining an RP experience or to destroying another player’s building for no valid reason. The extent of claimed griefing will be up for interpretation by the staff members.

2.1) Replace Any Removed Blocks

In the case of a robbery, where you are breaking in through anything that may be in your way, replace any blocks that you have removed. This also applies to when you are searching for hidden chests. The naturally formed world is not subject to the same idea. Not replacing blocks you destroy counts as lesser or greater griefing depending on the amount of blocks broken.

2.2) Exceptions

There are some blocks that are not considered building blocks and may be stolen at any time:
- Iron Block / Ore
- Gold Block / Ore
- Diamond Block / Ore
- Lapis Lazuli Block / Ore
- TNT
- Wheat (Please do replant it if you have the time)
- Melons, pumpkins (only if next to a stem)

If your character is planning to steal something, but you are not sure if it will be considered griefing, ask a Game Moderator about it. The moderators are there to help you with just this sort of thing!

Copypasta from the rules, seems pretty clear to me.
