I feel like the ban should be temporary, and the rules pertaining to spawn-killing and the use of flame-based weapons should be written or re-written. If what Infarei said was true, and the Vikings did use fire themselves, and in addition to that, they used it first, then, not to prod anyone here, I feel like the main reason that bans were handed out might have been because one group of people may have used lava better than another group of people, and in a location which has already endured a beating, leaving residents to be susceptible to (deserved) frustration. But hey, I wasn't there.
That's not to say I don't believe griefing took place, and that rules should be ignored, and discipline should become nonexistent, but with a simple apology for causing such extensive damage to the Viking nation's capitol (I think capitol?), the bans should be lifted after a period of time deemed fit by more than one moderator, with the understanding that if such extensive damage happens again, punishment will be much more severe.
In addition to that, it should be noted that SirSuba never once said the afore mentioned solution couldn't or wouldn't happen. I am simply pointing out that it's a thought which may not have crossed any of the banned player's minds.
As for the weekend wartime ordeal, I believe if it's not stated in the official rules that this is the only time a raid of this magnitude may be carried out, then it shouldn't be so until an amendment is made, but I'm short on time and haven't actually re-read that segment of the rules, and I'm only going off what Infarei said.
I'd also really love to say that the screenshots really don't constitute "flooding" which was a term thrown around a lot when referring to the lava, and that TNT cannons have the potential to do a hell of a lot more damage than lighting grass on fire.
Lastly, I feel as though tuxman's forum etiquette could use some serious refurbishing, and I also believe a kick followed by a "do not come back on until we settle this" or a ban with a "for NOW it's only temporary" may stir up less trouble in the future. But hey, I'm not a mod, and I'm quite positive the mods here have far more experience on the matter than I.
But seriously, before I go, I would like to reiterate that certain individuals' forum etiquette could use some polishing. Talking like that is just begging for a counterattack. Some would call it flaming...
Love and peace, bros. Love and peace.
