Banned people are banned for a reason. No amount of wishful thinking or hoping will make what they got banned for 'go away'. Unbanning banned members is not a question of beneficial or not beneficial. It's a question as to if it is right or wrong. Considering the fact that they were banned for a legitimate reason, they were wrong, both morally and lawfully.

I wouldn't say this server has good morals or is lawful for that matter. And on that note, you are talking about your idea of moral and lawful, which may differ greatly from everyone elses. Explain how unbanning everyone is morally and lawfully wrong, there is no rules on the server saying it can not be done, and as for morals well because you are so "im basing it off of the real world" there is a certain name for something which slips my mind, but there have been several IRL examples of them releasing large amounts of prisoners with only a few mishaps. They still do it to this day.

Of course im comparing serious criminals to something as petty as people "ruining the RP experience" or "griefing". I will point out that we didn't simply grief the server without a reason, some would even argue even it was a perfectly moral reason. I also wouldn't say the things that ensued after our banning on the server weren't to moral either, rather sneaky actually.

However I no longer have too much interest in returning, at this point i'm talking about everyone else who is banned, and there isn't really that many options left for you is there? Whether you believe it moral or not. Permabans aren't issued because "its not moral and thats not nice to do that". No they are issued to keep those same people from doing it again, and the truth is I don't think you all have much to lose do you? You have buildings and castles that you spent tons of time on yes, but who is there to enjoy them besides you and maybe 2 other people on the server. Might as well just take it to a singleplayer world. You can roll back the world but you can't simply increase the member count.

EDIT: You are totally right, no amount of wishful thinking or hoping will make what they did go away. But a rollback and some more moderation might. This has absolutely nothing to do with morals, nobody was left scarred by solitude, nobody HAS to do much wishful thinking. If you seriously are arguing that morals are the reason nobody should be unbanned then that is a very silly reason. No one has ever said that this suggestion was your idea of "Good and justice!". No they said it would increase the player count, and it will do just that.

I'm going to step in here and say that discussions on morality, ethics, and legality aren't quite meant for these forums. If characters are having such arguements, sure, but people can hold very strong stances and this can only flame. The discussion isn't really about how morale or "Good" it is to unban people, just if it will be beneficial for the server. Vote as you may on your beliefs, but I think the thread here should focus on if a mass unban would be an improvement for the server.

Please just don't. This isn't D&D. Alignments don't matter here.

I personally think that the banned players should remain banned... until the 2 new servers rise from the ashes. Then, and only then, should they get a second chance to become productive members of the community.

I just want littleblackout and solitude unbanned, they made the server fun and interesting, without them it was stupid fights with nations that had nothing.

The only reason they were banned to begin with was the fact that a lot of people didnt like them.

Those people have since moved on.

Blackout was never permabanned. He made hilarious ban appeals when he was temp banned though. Such a good guy, shame nobody can take a raid without bitching (myself including). That's why he left.
