No one here plays Revamped anymore. Whats the point of keeping them banned if the chance that them being unbanned would make it more fun the few players who still want to play, and possibly bring back other people just to fight rather than worry about how their tree home looks.
For fun. For science.
Just because I rarely post on the forums doesn't mean I don't read the forums. And they were banned for a reason, what's the chances they'll repeat what they were banned for? Pretty high I expect.

Any repeat offences can be dealt with easily - or if anything, more easily than before.

But would it not be easier to save moderators' time and not have them deal with repeat offences?

RE: The ban list.
You're being very cynical and pessimistic about this idea. Most people who want back on the server want to do so so they can play on the server - it's not fair to deny compassion to some former players who really regret what they did just because you don't want to put in a little effort. It's not like we're just opening a floodgate and handing out TNT and x-ray clients.

RE: The ban list.
You still have to see Smythie's point though. We have to uphold the rules. If someone is banned, we can't pardon them just because they feel bad. This is my arguement on Revamped. On the rp server, they have not been banned, so I'd expect them to be able to play there.

I agree with Cerce.
To get permabanned you have to do something really, really stupid. They are benned forever for a reason and not 3 or 4 months. They should stay banned.

RE: The ban list.
This has nothing to do with unbanning people because you feel bad. This has to do with unbanning people to raise server activity, not sure why this keeps getting twisted back to the whole moral issue or some other odd reason.

RE: The ban list.
Perhaps this could be revisited once we have the RP and future Revamped separated completely and running? I, for one, am not going to be the first to unban these people because they were clearly banned for a reason. Now, I understand the compassion argument that Crash brings up but in all honesty, but what can we hold to our name if every single person we ban is able to come back, no matter the amount of time in between?
I assume that most people here remember Pavja's large list of lies, and although most of them were just that, lies, he did make one point in particular about how we are supposedly too lenient on our bans. I still think it's totally false, but maybe that would be the one outstanding point among the rest if we were to unban everyone here and now for the sake of activity that may very well grow on the release of a few new projects.
Bear in mind, I'm not completely closed to the idea here, and I say 'I' because I can't speak for yotta or the rest of the staff on the matter, but as of yet I think this is a pretty bad fix that will only lead to more problems.
