Heck i would be against most computer companies and just build my own pc except for the sake of convinience. In all seriousness why pay $1200 for a computer that will run the same as an $800 one? just sayin

If it was just as easy to write a virus for a mac, why isnt there as much as there is for PC?
Since windows has like 95% of the market. Derp.

RE: apple vs. everything else
My friend has a mac, I have a PC and we payed almost the same price. And why has my PC then better specs?

What logic is that to buy something the lower value with the same price as something better? Just to have a apple logo on it?

HerpDerp

Hate apple.

RE: apple vs. everything else
as i've said before why pay the same price for a scoop of ice cream when you can get the whole tub? in all seriousness if you know what you're doing on a computer then you're less likely to get viruses. if you buy something like mcafee or other software good for you but there's plenty of free software out there that's actually better than the stuff you pay for. so even with a possible yearly cost for security it's still in the long run a better investment considering the computer won't be outdated as quickly. better specs for cheaper? sounds good to me

What do you mean, "the way Mac OS is written"? Just like every other operating system, it's not about the computer. It is about the ignorance of the person sitting in front of it. If you have no idea what you are doing and installing applications to left and right without knowing who made them, then yes, you will end up with a virus. It's easier to get a virus on a windows PC though, since most malwares are written for windows.

Now that I have a real keyboard in front of me, I can add my thoughts on the subject.

All operating systems are good for different things. There is no right or wrong OS. Everyone use their computer for different things.

If you enjoy doing like, everything on the computer, get Windows.
If you want a shiny computer that even your mom can use, get a Mac.
If you're awesome, cheap or hipster, get Linux.

I could sit here all day and write good and bad things about all of them but this is just endless circlejerking.

But Yotta... You forget one thing.

Every OS out there is inferior to Linux. I'm sorry guys. Sad

I love Linux, but I still miss a lot of stuff on it. Would be running linux on my other PC if it had divx web player or something similar.

Hmm yeah, Linux is lacking in a lot of things. :/

Every OS is actually inferior according to me, it just needs some attention. If people don't use it no one will make awesome programs for it.

And of course you don't make any money off of it. :/

I wish I was an insane space wizard.
