Lol, you wernt here for the Cornerstore war where you then?
And seriously though, how can everyone already be saying they are going to be war nations. This isnt a big deal right now, we dont even know if the nations your trying to create will even pass. And if they do, I think a lot of people are putting in to much work for a map that doesnt exist yet. It could be completely different from what you think and may work differently. Ideas and standards for your nation shouldnt be created until after age 1, when you can actually establish the nation...

Almost everyone is going to be a warmonger or some type of asshole.
About 3/4 of the people I've talked to have been like "Oh yeah we'll raid them until they submit then we'll take over the province"
Theres even a group of people (you know who you are ) who are trying to control all potion making and weapon enchanting, if you don't agree to them and let them control production, they'll raid you.
Seriously guys, what the fuck? Why has everyone just turned into an asshole all of the sudden? I'm personally offended for a couple of reasons. For one thing, this is a real stab in the back since I tried to help your burgeoning nation with the knowledge of a potential aggressor. Now, I find your spin on this story completely ridiculous. We do not want to restrict production. We also don't plan on any interventions with trade within a nation. We only wish to have a factor with trade between nations and individuals. We do not want to be violent, we just want to be regulatory. The benefit of being within the guilds trade agreement is easier trade through guild centers of trade and the advantage of a larger network of alchemists and enchanters to request ingredients and advice. Another point I would dispute is that we would raid others. We would never bring these agreements onto a town or nation. The issue is purely with the traders. We wouldn't say attack a town of the UR if a member was attempting to trade outside of our trade agreement we wouldn't attack the town but we may:
- Interrupt trades in progress.
- Ambush caravans.
- Specifically steal from the offender.
- We might use embargoes and other trade restrictions as a method to address the issue of an offender.
Those that are in the guild or have a special agreement with us have access to many traders and ingredients that those that do not. Do not think of us as pirates or "assholes". We are Mages, and Traders. We only wish for peace and good business. Now I have to do some homework and such.
Edit: (Since the Mage Guild will be run by a council of 6 we shall have a vote about this issue as our first order of business once the council is founded and we have our first session.)

Even though it doesn't involve raiding towns (I do apologize about that the info I got must have been fucked up >.>) it still involves doing unnecessary acts of violence. I do suggest however instead of being a focus of trade, you be a series of universities and colleges that also involve the sale and trade of enchanted weapons and potions. A guild of mages attacking caravans is also horribly OOC by the normal standards.
You wot?

pav, sometimes I wonder the same thing -.-
btw, bowser only speaks for himself atm, the mage guild technically does not exist nor can any of their standards be officiated without future council agreement.
