It might be because people are connecting to it with a 1.2.4 client and it crashes for some weird reason. Only my theory though.

If you're using the Techniclauncher then the MC version doesn't matter, I was logging into the Tekkit server just fine on 1.2.3

I had to take the server down, it kept crashing a few minutes after I restarted it. See it as a sign for something Shocked
