Fine then, if you are lucky enough to have a 100/100 mbit connection at home, a beasty computer laying around and someone else who pays your electrical bill, with all means go ahead Smiley

So 30 Dollars Montly from DayZ.ST for a US hosted server?

Lol not self-hosting, I'm talking about normal server-renting. You don't need to buy a whole dedicated server to host a DayZ server, just rent a normal, shared one like the rest of the world. Like tristo said, they can be pretty cheap and still be high-quality.

Shared hosting is shite though. They're usually oversold so they're much laggier than dedicated servers. They also lack any kind of customization so your server will be just like any other server ever. Which in turn means it'll be hard to get anything going. Sure, it's nice for a clan or a small community where everyone pitches in to pay for it. That's not the case for Kiwike. If we were to buy a 50 slot server, it's sad to admit but it would probably be empty most of the time just like the majority of DayZ servers. In all honesty, there is a huge amount of DayZ servers out there already. Most servers are the exact same, the only difference on a Kiwike server would be the name.

Not that it matters, DayZ, as it is now, is way to reliant on low pings and the current Kiwike community is too widespread to get any good action going in there anyway. Besides, as I already said, I already administrate another DayZ server and I see no point to get our own thing going. Maybe it'll be worth it when the standalone game is released, time will tell I guess.

By the way, what do you think the DayZ game will be rated? On esrb standards of course.
