Exactly! War is meant to be prevented, not sought out. If is 'too hard' to fight over and for what you have, and if the prospect of cleaning up after the battle is too disscouraging, then you have no courage and deserve to loose. If I am willing to sacrifice my castle that I have worked on for the past three months, I dont understand how difficult it is for you guys to sacrifice somethinf similar

I like and don't like Cerce's idea. I mean for the sake of war, I like it. Its war, be prepared to lose stuff including parts of your wall and city. The only problem is the fact that some people may take it way too seriously and all of a sudden your city is 2 or 3 blocks deeper because they were looking for secret chests. But other then that Cerce's idea is really good and I would love war to be that way.

Perhaps we could have both hardcore war for those who wants that (both parts have to agree to war) AND the wargame style with wargrounds etc. The wargames would be more like a fun minigame, not hardcore blood war.

I like that idea. But I feel that if both say yes to a hardcore war over maybe a few things stolen, that's kinda pointless to go and destroy each others cities over. I think that we can have both kinds of war, but there are only a few types of problems that can cause hardcore war, otherwise it could be the fun type or maybe some other type of war that isn't as brutal. Like we would need a list to say what can cause a hardcore war and whatnot. Like a few things stolen wouldn't be, but maybe a full on loot raid would or a massacre could, and things like a few things stolen or 1 person dies or a little verbal fight wouldn't. I hope I'm making this clear but this would be my idea on having hardcore wars.

I can care less about anything, but i do not want Griefing. If i work for a month on something, and just to have it taken down one night im not on with stacks of Tnt, it takes 5 minutes to destroy it, but a month to build it.

Does anyone have an opinion about using towny war for the time being? It's based on how long someone can stand in your town. They are penalized when they die, if they stand in a block long enough without defenders kicking them out their town gets a bonus townblock. It's not the best but its at least something.

Sun, We had that at the beginning of the server. The only problem with that is what if im asleep, and in your time zone its 12am? I get the bad end of this for not being on and you can just stand there.

No one wanted to participate in Towny war. Besides, I think it's broken in this version of Towny.

Even if it is broken, Cell has a point. The only problem with war is the timing factor. Anyone can just waltz on in to your city when every member is offline and they are all on. Somehow if we want war we are going to need a way that it doesn't affect timing. Which is why people suggested arranged wars, which some people don't want because they say that really isn't "war" and now we have the suggestion of hardcore wars which is a matter or timing as well.
